magicolor 330 1.3.1 CB1.0 System Code Downloading Instructions
This document lists printer specific information for the magicolor 330 printer. It lists the steps necessary for downloading system code version 1.3.1 CB1.0.

Instructions for downloading magicolor 330 system code version 1.3.1 CB1.0
NOTE:
If the system being updated has a version of code prior to 1.2.1 loaded, the user MUST upgrade to 1.1.2 TB4.0 before upgrading to 1.3.1 CB1.0. The ONLY way this can be avoided is if system code 1.3.1 CB1.0 is sent to the printer via parallel after the printer has been rebooted with two keys pressed down and the message 'Download to ser. or par.' has appeared. If the printer is rebooted while pressing two keys and the message 'Download to ser. or par.' has appeared and then 1.3.1 CB1.0 system code is sent to the printer, the code will update correctly.
1. Before downloading system code version 1.3.1 CB1.0 to a magicolor 330 printer, the user must also ensure that the printer's 'fuser oil roller' has printed less than 7,000 prints. (If the fuser oil roller has printed more than 7,000 prints, it needs to be replaced to minimize the fuser failures being experienced by the customer.)
When the printer is at idle (the LCD displays IDLE), press the 'Online' button on the printer's front panel to take the printer offline.
Press the 'Menu' button on the printer's front panel to access the printer's menu.
Press the 'Select' button to access the 'Operator Control' menu.
Scroll through the menu until 'CONSUMABLES' is displayed on the printer's LCD and then press the 'Select' button.
Scroll through the menu until 'PRINT STATISTICS' is displayed on the printer's LCD and then press the 'Select' button.
Press the select button again to select 'YES'. (The statistics page should print)
Press the 'Online' button twice to put the printer online.
Find the fuser oil roller's count remaining value on the printer's statistics page.
· If the count remaining is greater than 13,000 then proceed to step 3 in this document. If the count remaining is less than or equal to 13,000 then proceed to step 2 in this document.
2. If the fuser oil roller's count remaining is less than or equal to 13,000 then the user must replace the fuser oil roller before moving on to step 3 in this document.
Remove the old fuser oil roller and replace it with a new fuser oil roller.
Press the 'Select' button again to select 'ITEM REPLACED'
Scroll through the menu until 'FUSER OIL ROLLER' is displayed on the printer's LCD and then press the 'Select' button.
Press the 'Select' button again to select 'YES'.
Press the 'Online' button twice to put the printer online.
Proceed to step 3 in this document.
3. When the printer is Online and Idle send system code version 1.3.1 CB1.0 to the printer. Once the system code has completed downloading the printer will reboot and print a start-up page. Check the start-up page to ensure that it shows that the 'System Software Release' is 1.3.1 and the 'Custom Build' is 1.0.
If the start-up page does not show that the 'System Software Release' is 1.3.1 and the 'Custom Build' is 1.0, the system code did not download correctly. Repeat step 3 of this document.
