Note) There is report that fault may occur by the combination

Installation Instructions
===========================================================================
* Installation
[Windows Platforms]
Just double click on the self-extracting file to automatically
start the installation process.
[Solaris / Linux Platforms]
1. Unzip the archive file to any directory *.
* NOTE: Since the server is started as a daemon process, it
is advisable to install the package in the root
partition.
2. Running the script "install.sh" will install the Network
Management Utility Server as a daemon process.
* NOTE: When you use "SuSE" Linux, run the script
"install.suse.sh". When other distribution, run the
script "install.sh".
3. Running the script "uninstall.sh" will un-install the Network
Management Utility Server.
NOTE: When you end the Server, please use "#/etc/init.d/nmu stop"
(Linux: "#/etc/rc.d/init.d/nmu stop").
Also, when you un-install Network Management Utility, please
execute "#/etc/init.d/nmu stop" first, and then execute
"uninstall.sh". Otherwise you will need to restart Solaris,
when you start up the Network Management Utility Server next
time.

* Update from Version4.00 to Version4.01

1. Stop Network Management Utility Service.
Instructions to Stop Network Management Utility Service on NT

1. From Programs menu, Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel.
2. Open Services window.
3. Select 'Minolta PageScope Net Care' Service.
4. Click 'Stop' to stop the Network Management Utility Server.
2. Double click on the self-extracting file.
3. Start Network Management Utility Service.
Instructions to Start Network Management Utility Service on NT
--------------------------------------------------
1. From Programs menu, Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel.
2. Open Services window.
3. Select 'Minolta PageScope Net Care' Service.
4. Click 'Start' to start the Network Management Utility Server.

Starting the Server
===========================================================================
[Windows 95 / 98 / Me]
The server can be started through the Windows Programs menu.
or by double clicking the "nmu_start.bat" file in the Network
Management Utility home directory.
[Windows NT4.0(SP3) / 2000 / XP]
Network Management Utility Server will be installed as an NT service
on Windows.
Instructions to Start/Stop Network Management Utility Service on NT
--------------------------------------------------
1. From Programs menu, Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel.
2. Open Services window.
3. Select 'Minolta PageScope Net Care' Service.
4. Click 'Start' to start the Network Management Utility Server
5. Click 'Stop' to stop the Network Management Utility Server.
NOTE: Network Management Utility Server needs a few minutes to start
the service because server has to collect some information
from the system. The time depend on the Hardware capability.
[Solaris / Linux]
Network Management Utility Server is automatically started after
installation, it could also be started manually like any other
daemon process.
Use the following command to start and stop the Network Management
Utility server.
Usage [Longin as root]
[Solaris] #/etc/init.d/nmu argument
[Linux] #/etc/rc.d/init.d/nmu argument

start | Start the NMU-Server as a daemon process
stop | Stop the NMU-Server
restart | Restart the NMU-Server ( Stop and Start )
reinit | Initialize the NMU-Server (Stop, re-initialize and
Start)
NOTE: By default the Network Management Utility server searches for
network printers in the local network, if any un-configured or
mis-configured SnmpAgent is running on your server machine
then auto discovery will not be done. In that case you would
have to either stop the SnmpAgent running in your server
machine or add the local network manually from Discovery
Setting menu in Network Management Utility Client screen.

Starting the Client
===========================================================================
From Java Plug-in installed browser please use the following URL to
start the client
http://[SERVER_NAME]:[PORT]/
where [SERVER_NAME] is the Name or IP-Address, [PORT] is the port
number of the host where the Network Management Utility Server is
running.
The default port number is 9090. The default URL to start the
client
http://[SERVER_NAME]:9090/

IMPORTANT!
In the [Input Password] screen, the user has to choose to
login as 'Admin' or as 'Guest'. To login as 'Admin', the user
needs to enter a password. The default 'Admin' password is
"admin". Once logged in as 'Admin', the password could be
changed in the [Preferences] screen of the utility.

Release Notes
===========================================================================
- It was confirmed that value might not be acquired for some part
of items even if "Retrieve" is performed by "Template" function.
In this case, please try "Retrieve" again.
- The Last Discovery Start Time and Last Discovery Finish Time
immediately after installing Network Management Utility of
the Solaris version do not display correct date sometimes.
In this case, please try the following.
The correct date will be displayed by adding the network in which
you want to search the device or pushing Discovery button if the
network is already added.
- Even though you specify the range in "Discovery From" and "To" of
"Input Network Range", the devices other than the range are also
discovered.
If you do not need them, please delete them on "Remove" screen and
also delete the "Discovery Range" that becomes an object.
- When you add the device that is not contained in "Discovery Network /
Range" of "Discovery Setting" with "Add Device", the class C network
containing the device is added to "Discovery Network / Range". Please
delete, if you do not need it.
- The information, which is set to the device not with the character
string but with the numerical value, may be displayed as it is into
the item displayed in "Command Mail" and
"Multi Setting / Information".
