The magicolor 5550 is up and running in minutes with pre-installed supplies and auto-run software that automatically detects the printer on the network and guides you through setup. Camera direct photo printing delivers photos on glossy photo stock up to 8.5" x 11", including standard 4" x 6" media, without a computer or special software. Direct-print PDF, JPEG, and TIFF files from a USB flash drive without a computer or special software when an optional compact flash card or hard disk is installed. The USB 1.1 Host Port used for camera direct and USB flash drive direct printing is conveniently located on the side of the printer control panel. The system administrator can easily lock the port so only approved staff members have access. An optional compact flash card or hard disk also provides additional storage for fonts, forms, and color profiles; electronic collation; direct PDF, JPEG, and TIFF printing; job accounting; and secure printing functions.
